Two newborn babies burnt alive in a fire erupted at the neonatal ward of a private hospital in Sadiqabad, District Rahim Yar Khan. The recue sources suspected that the fire was caused by an electric short circuit early Thursday morning.
The rescuers said that the fire was reported in the hospital’s neonatal ward. “There were only two babies in the ward at the time of the fire, both of whom died in the blaze”, the rescuers informed.
According to the hospital administration, no one else was hurt in the incident.
Rescue sources said the fire broke out due to a short circuit. On getting information, firefighters reached the site and put out the blaze. The police have launched investigation into the incident.
