Festive firing kills six, several injured in Lakki Marwat

The festive firing in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa led to the death of at least six individuals and injuries as several others sustained injuries. In fact a wedding celebration turned into a scene of sorrow due to celebratory gunfire.

The Police and the district administration said the tragic incident took place at a wedding function in village Akri Khanzada Khail, Lakki Marwat, as confirmed by local authorities. Upon receiving the report, police swiftly arrived at the scene, initiating an investigation and promptly transferring the deceased and injured to the hospital for post-mortem examinations.

In fact the incidents of festive firing and the stray bullets are on the rice and have eaten up many lives over the years. Despite Police advisories issued time and again to avoid aerial firing, there is no end to the extremely dangerous practice and hardly anybody is penalized as mostly the influential people resort to the aerial firings thus making open mockery of the law.
