Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that the opposition’s efforts to halt the legislation regarding FATF have been exposed.
“The government in safeguarding national, not political interests and under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan our government will steer the country out of FATF’s grey list. Governor was talking with PTI member Shaukat Basra and other party delegations. Political and national issues came under discussion during this meeting.
The Punjab governor said that despite opposition’s protests, the passage of 5 bills including the bill on money-laundering in a joint session of the Parliament is strong evidence that the PTI government is strong inside Parliament.
He said that the opposition’s agenda of safeguarding their personal interests is failing on every front.
The goal of all government decisions is to safeguard the national interests. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar said that the opposition should give priority to National interests. Opposition’s conduct on FATF is no longer democratic. In fact, they have been exposed in front of the public due to opposition to FATF related bills.
The Punjab governor said that the PTI government is taking practical steps to strengthen all institutions including the Parliament. Democracy is strengthening as well.
We will fulfill all our promises. He said that our first priority is the welfare of the public and there shall be no compromise on this at any cost. He said that the failed decisions and economic policies of previous governments have caused huge damage to the country on every front.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we saved the country from economic bankruptcy. We are taking practical steps to strengthen the country, he added.
Shaukat Basra said that the establishment of the South Punjab Secretariat is a historic step of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The people of South Punjab are grateful to the Prime Minister on this initiative. The government has full public support in all its policies and the decision of Public in Municipal elections will be in our favour, he added.
