Family medicine backbone of healthcare system: Channer

Family medicine is backbone of healthcare system and it should be promoted as the most effective tool not only for proper referral but for the better prognosis of diseases, this was uttered by Dr Asif Channer disaster and emergency management professional while attending 32nd international conference of family medicine as a special guest.

A 4 days Familycon was organised by pakistan association of family physicians in Lahore from 27th October 30th October. A large number of participants including heads of institutions, professors, family physicians, medical students and representatives of allied health Sciences participated in the conference from all over Pakistan and around the globe.

Dr Asif Channer emphasized that family medicine is backbone of Healthcare setup in any country but unfortunately in Pakistan this speciality has been ignoring since long and it should be patronizedby both the Federal and provincial governments,

Dr Channer added that for happy and healthy Nation family medicine must be encouraged for early diagnosis, prompt treatment this reducing the burden of diseases and bringing positive socioeconomic change in societies.

During the conference both the physically and online lectures, presentations, practical sessions were conducted as a continuous medical education program to enhance learning skills and professional development.
