ISLAMABAD – Petrol price is expected to move down from the start of January 2024 following the change in international oil prices since the last fortnight’s review.
Sources familiar with development revealed that the price of petrol is estimated to be reduced by about Rs1.72 per litre for the first half of next month, in what could be the third drop in price in recent months.
Meanwhile, Diesel is expected to witness an increase of around Rs1-Rs1.30 per litre.
As people in crisis-hit Pakistan are facing record inflation, a further drop in prices may help the government to maintain prices of other commodities like food.
The interim government is expected to announce the reduction in fuel prices on December 31, 2023.
