Drug Free Punjab campaign continues successfully

On the directions of chief minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Drug free Punjab campaign is successfully going on across the Punjab, in continuation of which intelligence based targeted combing operations have been accelerated across the province. Spokesman of Punjab Police said that during the last 24 hours, 293 hideouts of drug dealers were raided across the province including Lahore, 159 accused were arrested while registering 147 cases against the accused involved in the heinous drug trade. 132 kg charas, 01 kg heroin, 01 kg opium, 2092 litres of liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Spokesman of Punjab Police said that 19,154 raids were conducted on the bases of drug dealers during the special campaign since 26th February, 8960 cases were registered against the accused involved in nefarious business while 9470 accused were arrested. 6180 kg of charas, 104 kg of heroin, 34 kg of Ice, 218 kg of opium, 119154 litres of liquor, were also recovered from the accused

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed the RPOs, DPOs, to personally supervise the anti-narcotics operations. IGP Punjab said that the brutal culprits who poison drugs in educational institutions should be brought to justice as soon as possible. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that all the accused involved in the supply chain, with joint operation along with ANF and other organizations should be brought to justice.

Meanwhile SP Malik Ikram retired from the police department on completion of professional service. IG Punjab DrUsman Anwar presented a commemorative shield and bouquet to Malik Ikram on the occasion of his retirement. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar expressed good wishes for the future of SP Malik Ikram. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is like a family, and the department maintains close liaison with retired officers and officials.Spokesman Punjab Police said that SP Malik Ikram served in the police department for 34 years. Malik Ikram had joined the police service as a sub-inspector and continued to excel in his career with excellent performance. SP Malik Ikram was serving as SP Traffic Saddar Lahore these days.
