‘Distressed and Struggling’: Taha’s Friends recall teen’s final moments during Margalla Hills Hike

ISLAMABAD – Islamabad Police is probing the mysterious death of teenager Muhammad Taha, who was found dead during hike at Trail 5 of Margalla Hills.

After the death of 15-year-old boy, police have recorded statements from all five of his friends who accompanied him during the hiking journey.

Sources reveal that three statements were recorded yesterday and two more were taken today. According to the children’s statements, Taha seemed distressed during the hike. They claim that after hiking 3 kilometers, Taha was visibly struggling to breathe.

On May 25, Taha went on a hike with his five friends to Trail Five. Two days later, his body was tragically discovered near Lohi Dhandhi.

The investigation into Taha’s death continues as authorities seek to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his passing.

Taha’s friends also that on one of their group member was injured during hike. They mentioned that Rangers nearby provided first aid to the injured friend and initially tried to bring him down the trail but then decided to take him to a nearby uphill post closer to Monal for further treatment.

Meanwhile, Taha and the other friends continued hiking towards Monal, planning to reach the restaurant and take taxis home. Taha, however, told his friends he would turn back and head home alone. This was when the group separated, with Taha descending the trail alone.
