Complete projects in time, CM tells babus Says govt focuses on development of South Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has focused on the development of South Punjab province.

The chief minister said that the district authorities are ensuring provision of basic facilities to the general public. “The government will soon conduct local bodies elections in Punjab to resolve the problems of the people at grass-root level,” the CM informed.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that that he personally visits backward areas of the province to know problems of masses and stressed that he is a voice of all backward areas not just DG Khan.

He said that development in education, irrigation and health is top priority and government is also working to provide clean drinking water in backward areas. While criticizing opposition parties, he said that there is mistrust in ranks of PDM and predicted that opposition will backtrack from long march just like it took a U-turn from resignations.

The chief minister directed timely completion of ongoing development projects in Bahawalpur, ARY News reported. Chairing a meeting at Bahawalpur Aiport lounge, CM Usman Buzdar got a briefing about ongoing development projects in the area and the law and order situation.

The concerned officials should monitor the pace of development work on the ground and ensure timely completion of the projects to benefit the masses, he directed. The chief minister made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated.

He said that development in education, irrigation and health is top priority and the government is also working to provide clean drinking water in backward areas. The chief minister said that potential in tourism can be used for strengthening the economy. This sector will be promoted by ensuring basic amenities in far-flung areas like Marri, Koh-e-Suleman and Cholistan.

The promotion of tourism will create employment opportunities for local people. He said that in order to provide water in these remote areas, construction of underground storage water tanks would be considered.

The govt is paying special attention on the development of backward areas adding that now no area will be deprived of development. Composite development of all the backward areas of Punjab is the goal of PTI govt. The funds of S Punjab was utilized in some other cities. He said that the former rulers are responsible for the backwardness and deprivations of S Punjab.

Meanwhile, CM went to the residence of provincial minister Nouman Ahmad in Chichawatini and condoled with him on the death of his father. He also offered Fateha for the departed soul and paid tribute to late Malik Iqbal Langrial for his socio-political services. He prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude. Former minister Noraiz, Chairman PHA Sahiwal, PTI office-bearers, workers and notables of the area were also present on this occasion.
