Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday sent a summary for the dissolution of the provincial assembly to Governor Haji Ghulam Ali.

KP government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif confirmed the development, saying that the summary for the dissolution of the assembly has been forwarded to the governor.
“Even if the governor does not approve the summary, the assembly will automatically stand dissolved after 48 hours,” he added.
Earlier, addressing the 86th meeting of the provincial cabinet, CM Mahmood said “the last four years have passed by smoothly,” adding that the cabinet members and government are grateful to opposition parties’ MPAs and the bureaucracy.
Further, he thanked the people of KP for trusting him. “In the interest of the country, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will be dissolved today,” he announced.
The chief minister also expressed hope that “in the upcoming general elections, we [PTI] will establish a government with a two-thirds majority in the entire country”.
