Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired a meeting about the orange line metro train and metro bus service at his office on Monday.
The meeting discussed different proposals about the orange line metro train’s fare including station-to-station price.
Secretary transport briefed about various matters of orange line metro train and metro bus service.
Transport Minister Jehanzeb Khan Khichi, Advisor Dr Salman Shah, SACM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, chief secretary, MD Punjab Mass transit Authority and others attended the meeting.
The chief minister directed the PMA to devise a business plan for train stations.
He directed to hold an inquiry for the delay in timely procurement of e-ticketing software and it’s fitting adding that responsible persons be identified and a report be submitted to his office within 15 days after a detailed probe.
The chief minister further directed to constitute a committee to settle fare, business plan and other issues of orange line metro train.
This committee will submit its report within 15 days along with necessary timelines.
He directed that a comprehensive plan be devised to curtail operational expenditures of the orange line metro train and innovative planning be made for the promotion of commercial activities at different stations.
The CM also directed to further improve cleanliness arrangements at the route and different stations of the orange line metro train.
In the meanwhile presiding over another meeting Usman Buzdar said that every citizen will be given universal health insurance in the province and the target will be achieved by December 2021 as it is the flagship programme of the PTI government.
Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid, Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, SACM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, secretaries of health and finance departments and others attended the meeting.
At the outset, the CM said universal health insurance cover will be given to the residents of Sahiwal and DG Khan Divisions.
It is the best healthcare programme for providing quality medical facilities free of cost at the doorsteps of the people, he added.
The chief minister directed to early complete the board of directors of Punjab Health Initiative Management Company.
It is sanguine that best arrangements are made for the vaccination of elderly citizens; he said and directed to accelerate the vaccination of elderly citizens along with health workers.
The chief minister asked the ministers to visit vaccination centres in their respective areas to review the facilities.
The corona situation is dangerous and everyone should remain very careful, he added.
The government will take every possible step to save the lives of the citizens and the general public should also cooperate in this regard, the CM added.
