Owners and principals of 46 private sector medical and dental colleges in Punjab expressed their confidence in the University of Health Sciences (UHS) with regards to central admissions policy in a meeting held on Friday.
The meeting was chaired by UHS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore.
On this occasion, UHS VC addressed the owners and principals of private sector medical colleges briefing them on the admission process. The cordial meeting extended for over two hours. Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore explained that in accordance with the Punjab government’s policy, admissions to both government and private colleges shall be centralized with the aim of ensuring merit and transparency. He noted that the provincial government’s policy was established under the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Act 2022.
Professor Rathore assured the owners of private medical colleges that MBBS and BDS admissions would be completed in a timely manner, and all seats would be filled based on merit. UHS VC carefully considered the recommendations presented by the representatives of colleges and also pledged to address any concerns related to admissions. He further assured that the university will coordinate with other universities regarding admissions. During this meeting, the owners and principals of private medical colleges expressed their confidence in UHS.
It’s important to note that the process of receiving applications for admissions in government and private sector medical and dental colleges will commence under UHS on October 16.
