The issue of leasing railway land against former Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has finally come to an end. According to NAB sources, recommendations were sent to the NAB chairman after approval in the regional board meeting.
Khawaja Saad Rafique was accused of leasing billions of rupees of railway land to well-wishers at cheap rates. It was alleged by the complainant that Khawaja Saad leased government land on Lahore Walton Road and UET for 33 years.
The land was given to a blue eyed contractor through Redmco for the benefit of the said contractor. Pakistan Railways officials did not inspect the land for leasing. According to sources, during the investigation it was found out that the company leased the land to the company a highest bidder.
According to NAB sources, the allegation against Khawaja has not been substantiated. 12 plots have been given to oil companies in different districts of Pakistan, Plots in Bhalwal have been given to Rawalpindi company while commercial plots in Rahim Yar Khan have been given to Jam Brothers.
It may be recalled that Khawaja Saad Rafique while talking to the media said that the opposition was fed up with retaliatory actions, the opposition decided to fight for the people together.
He always said that confrontation should be avoided. He believed that there was always limit to political revenge. Inflation has raised the voices of the peoples, on the other hand, the opposition is being cornered. The job of the government is only to lie and make accusations.
