4 schools established to educate brick-kiln workers’ children
Speaker Punjab Ch. Pervez Elahi and Federal Minister for Water Resources Ch. Moonis Elahi called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Monday and discussed matters of mutual interest.
CM and Speaker Punjab Assembly agreed to further strengthen the working relationship and decided to jointly take part in local bodies’ elections. The CM said that there is the best working relationship with PML-Q adding that the consultation process on important issues would be continued. The journey of public service would be accelerated and the critics would be responded through performance by the government, he added. The CM maintained that the durable work done by the PTI-led government is unique as important relief has been provided to the masses. Meanwhile, the opposition has no narrative or any strategy for the masses, he added.
Speaker Ch. Pervez Elahi vowed to jointly work for providing relief to the masses and emphasised that the alliance was being moved forward with sincerity. The consultation process would be continued to choose joint candidates for local bodies elections, he added.
Principal Secretary to CM Amir Jan and Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti were also present.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, four schools have been established in Mianwali to educate brick-kiln workers’ children. DC Mianwali Khuram Shehzad inspected the school to review the facilities provided to the students.
In a statement issued on Monday, the CM appreciated the step and said the doors of education have been opened to the children of brick-kiln workers under the zaver taleem program along with the free provision of uniforms and textbooks. Regrettably, the tender-age children who should have been in schools were forced to produce bricks to assist their destitute families, the CM said and added that the PTI-led government has given books and pens in their hands to help them to excel in life through the power of knowledge. The developed nations have achieved pinnacles of glory through the power of knowledge and the poor strata could also wriggle out of the quagmire of illiteracy and poverty through the education of their children, concluded the CM.
