Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Buzdar on Thursday declared that the budget for new fiscal year has been prepared keeping in mind the public needs and preferences and annual development programme worth Rs560 billion will usher in new era of progress and prosperity in Punjab.
“Opposition should first go through the budget document then comment as it will realise itself that they can never criticise this historic budget, envisaged for public prosperity.”
Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was talking to members Provincial Assembly here in Punjab Assembly on Thursday. Usman Buzdar met with more than 100 MPAs and listened to their problems.
Elected representatives lauded the vision of Sardar Usman Buzdar for presenting the best and public-friendly budget.
On the occasion, the chief minister said that displaying negative attitude at every occasion by the opposition is against the political norms and there is a need to reconsider its non-parliamentary behaviour. “It is a sincere advice to the opposition to leave the practice of negative politics”, he stressed.
Usman Buzdar said that no one will be allowed to create hurdle in the way of development of province and prosperity of the people.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that the PTI government inherited a plethora of incomplete development schemes and overdraft worth billions of rupees when it came into power in 2018.
“The provincial budget 2021-22 will provide substantial relief to the masses and every stratum of the society will benefit from the fruits of development.”
The chief minister termed the new budget historic, having glad tidings of comfort for the public, saying that a record increase has been made in ADP besides providing tax relief for undue impact of Corona pandemic on Businesses.
“It is important to note that realistic targets have been identified to ensure the welfare of the people and the opposition will be unable to criticize them, he said.
The new budget will ensure the welfare of every segment of the society,” he said, adding that the budget will be passed in a smooth manner.
The CM said that opposition is divided and facing internal differences as it has no agenda for the development of the country. “Criticism is a usual modus operandi of the opposition,” the CM further said.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar claimed that the PTI government has earmarked around Rs28 billion for different development activities in the provincial metropolis including Shahkam Chowk Overhead Bridge, Ghulab Devi Hospital Underpass and Sheranwala Gate Overhead Bridge.
The chief minister said the development work will benefit citizens in their daily mobility. The projects have been designed according to the city needs and public priorities are given importance instead of personal projection, he added.
The CM affirmed that a 1000-bed hospital will be constructed and Rs1.5 billion is allocated for the installation of a surface water treatment plant to fulfil the water needs of the citizens.
