The cryptocurrency market extended gains for the second day in a row on Friday, with market capitalisation surging 2.2 percent to reach $2.09 trillion.

As of 1135 hours GMT, the largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin’s (BTC) price increased by 3.04 percent to reach $44,374. With this increase in price, the market capitalisation of the biggest crypto has reached $840 billion. Bitcoin has gained 8 percent during the last seven days. Ether (ETH), the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation, surged by 3.24 percent to reach $3,154. With this increase in price, the market capitalisation of ETH has reached $371 billion. —TLTP
