The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) commemorated the 17th death anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on Friday, following the instructions of its Chairperson, Senator Rubina Khalid.
The primary event took place at the BISP District Office in Larkana, Sukkur Region, attended by DG BISP Sindh Zulfiqar Ali Sheikh, regional directors, officers, and staff, according to a statement. Quran recitations and Fateha Khawani ceremonies were organized across Sindh to honor the legacy of Benazir Bhutto. Zulfiqar Sheikh highlighted that BISP operates in line with Bhutto’s vision, supporting over 2.5 million families in Sindh.
Addressing the staff, he urged them to treat women beneficiaries with respect and perform their duties as a sacred responsibility.
Ceremonies were also held at BISP zonal offices in Karachi and Hyderabad. In Karachi, Deputy Director Admin Syed Zulqarnain Haider and Deputy Director NSER Hadi Qureshi participated, while in Hyderabad, Zonal Director Hameeduddin Rashidi, Deputy Director Admin and Accounts Jafar Hussain Panhwar, and Assistant Director Agha Waseem attended alongside other regional staff.
Across Sindh, Zonal, District, and Tehsil offices marked the occasion with Quran recitations, paying tribute to the enduring legacy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and her unwavering commitment to the people of Pakistan.
