Awareness seminar on dengue virus spread, symptoms held

An awareness seminar on dengue virus spread, symptoms and preventive measurements was conducted by the anti-dengue task force of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), here on Friday.

Deans of faculties, chairpersons, faculty members, staff and a large number of students participated in the seminar.

UET Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shahzad Ali was the resource person and delivered a comprehensive lecture, highlighting the root-causes, symptoms, breeding and eradication of dengue larvae, and focus on precautionary measures.

The audience were told that due to protective measures, taken by the anti-dengue task force of the university under the guidance and instructions of the vice-chancellor, and by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the Punjab Health Department, the situation regarding dengue virus spread was under control at the campus.
