LAHORE – The Lahore police, in collaboration with the district administration, is actively engaged in a comprehensive crackdown against encroachments, marking the third consecutive day of the grand operation.
The operation aimed to address and rectify unauthorized constructions and clear public spaces for the community.
Since the day operation stated, a significant impact was witnessed, as a total of 140 cases were registered, leading to the apprehension of 631 individuals involved in encroachments.
Sharing insights into the operation’s progress, CCPO Lahore revealed a breakdown of cases across different divisions within the city. As many as 16 cases were registered in the city division, 12 in Cantonment, 10 in Civil Lines area, 17 in Saddar, 71 in Iqbal Town, and 14 in Model Town.
In terms of arrests, the City Division took 110 individuals into custody, while 127 people were arrested in Cantonment area while 73 were taken into custody in the Civil Lines area.
The authorities said that the district administration is providing maximum support to the law enforcement during the operation. Similarly, the officials also launched operation against 23 identified hotspots in the city to end encroachments and reclaim the public spaces.
The divisional officers were directed to play active role in the ongoing operation against encroachments. It may be mentioned here that driving through the encroached roads and the streets is a big challenge for the citizens as many business centers and points did not provide space for parking of their customers in the city.
