Anti-corona strategy great success: CM Governor, Buzdar and IG Police review Muharram securtiy

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Monday said that his government’s strategy to overcome the novel coronavirus on Eidul Azha has turned out to be a great success.
Timely smart lockdown helped prevent spread of coronavirus during the Eidul Azha as the number of coronavirus cases going down in the province, the chief minister said in a statement.
Only 24 cases of coronavirus reported in Punjab in past 24 hours, he said. The total count of coronavirus cases has reached to 93,197 in Punjab, whereas, four more succumbed to COVID-19 in 24 hours, taking the death count to 2,148, he said.
The number of recovered patients in the province has reached to 82,563, while the tally of live cases went down to 8486, the chief minister said. The province has conducted overall 739,253 diagnostic tests so far, he further said. He thanked the people for following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lockdown ahead of Eid.
“Prime Minister’s policy of smart lockdown got widespread appreciation,” he claimed.
CM ORDERS COMPLETION OF CLEANLINESS OPERATION
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the completion of Eid cleanliness operation by Monday evening at every cost. The CM has ordered the authorities concerned to continue effective cleanliness operation in streets, dispose of animal remains properly while following the coronavirus SOPs and take action against those who are responsible for violations.
Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) officers and workers to remain in filed in case of rain. The chief minister has ordered the management to complete the cleanliness operation across the province.
PUNJAB TO LAUNCH MEGA PROJECTS
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that his government will inaugurate mega projects under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program in the next months.
The chief minister took to Twitter on Monday and said the Punjab government announced historic incentives and facilities for the housing and construction sector according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The steps have been taken to compensate the economic activities, which were badly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the chief minister said. He said that a Lahore Development Authority (LDA) project of 35,000 apartments worth over one billion dollars for the salaried class will soon be launched under the “Naya Pakistan Housing.”
Development work is ongoing on projects in multiple phases in districts of Attock, Bhakkar, Okara, Kasur, Sialkot, Chiniot, Lodhran and Bahawalnagar, he added.
CM, GOVERNOR, IGP MEET AFTER EID PRAYERS
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and IG Police Shoaib Dastagir called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar. During the meeting, the trio discussed and reviewed matters regarding progress and peace situation in the province at lengthen. The Punjab governor offered his Eid prayer with Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at Governor’s House.
According to details, in the meeting after Eid prayer between Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, both leaders discussed Youm-e-Istehsal, national and political matters, progress and prosperity of province and the measures adopted to control the Coronavirus spread in Punjab. Both leaders also exchanged Eid greetings. It was decided during the meeting that Youm-e-Istehsal will be celebrated on August 5 to raise voice against Indian oppression in Kashmir.
Both leaders agreed to take forward the mission of development and progress in Punjab under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. All the resources will be utilised to provide relief to the public.
The governor also met Punjab IG Police Shoaib Dastagir. The IGP apprised the governor about the security arrangements that are in place to ensure the safety of the public during Eidul Azha and Muharramul Haram. Talking to the IG Police, the governor said that it is the duty of the police to deliver justice to public and there should be no negligence in this regard. He further said that the incumbent government is strengthening the national institutes by eliminating political interference from them. Strengthening of institutes will result in the strength of Punjab and ultimately it will make Pakistan invincible. Whilst addressing the different delegates that called on Governor Punjab, he said that the PTI government is making difficult decisions for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Governor Ch Sarwar said that the incumbent government will be successful in liberating Pakistan from the current challenges and Pakistan will move forward on the road of progress and prosperity. Earlier during Eid prayer with Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, both leaders prayed for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
