LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 182 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different areas of provincial metropolis on Thursday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 42 businesses in Gulberg and New Garden Town, 40 on Canal Bank Road, 20 in Allama Iqbal Town, and 80 in Johar Town, Quaid-e-Azam Town, Nespak Society and Wapda Town.
The sealed premises include American Lyceum, Broadway Pizza, Fazal Sweets, Bata outlet, Shehbaz College of Pharmacy, private bank, clinic, saloon, pharmacies, bakeries, food outlets, grocery stores, private offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
