AIGP orders crackdown to curb crime in S Punjab

Additional Inspector General of Police South Punjab Capt (r) Zafar Iqbal Awan (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) has said that the field staff has been directed to carry out a vigorous crackdown to curb crime in South Punjab.
He said that a special operation launched in all districts this month yielded positive results, warning there is no room for police officers involved in immorality and obstructing justice.
Capt (r) Zafar Iqbal Awan (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) was addressing police officers and various delegations of citizens during a visit to Bahawalpur Range.
Earlier on arrival, he was received by RPO Bahawalpur Zubair Ahmed Dareshk and DPO Bahawalpur.
Zafar Iqbal said that the Punjab government has set up an Additional IG South Punjab office to resolve problems behing faced by people of the region at their doorsteps which will benefit the police personnel along with the general public.
He said that he would make frequent visits to Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan ranges and would also conduct unannounced inspections of police stations while resolving public grievances on the spot. Capt. Zafar Iqbal said that police officers should go out in field and increase public contact.
