Agriculture Dept recovers counterfeit pesticide

Successful crackdown against counterfeiters and sellers of counterfeit pesticides continued in Punjab.

Agriculture Department Pest Warning District Jhang conducted another raid on Thursday on a shop selling pesticides without license, dealership, invoice and stock register.

Mohammad Yasir, Assistant Director, Agriculture Pest Warning, Jhang District on direction of Dr Mohammad Aslam, Director General, Agriculture Pest Warning, Lahore conducted the raid.

The raiding team was headed by Deputy Director, Agriculture Pest Warning, Faisalabad.

The raiding team successfully conducted a raid at Chak 266/JB, Tehsil Jhang and recovered illegal pesticides worth Rs64398.

Agricultural authorities filed an application with Mochiwala police station, for registration of case against Jahanzeb. The raiding team handed over all the recovered pesticides to the police.

Authorities have asked the general public to inform them about the sale of counterfeit pesticides and fertilizers and action will be taken in 24 hours.
