Mayor of London Borough of Hounslow Afzaal Kiani has raised concerns about the current investment climate in Pakistan, suggesting that overseas investors are hesitant to engage due to prevailing conditions.
Kiani emphasized that the possibility of substantial overseas investments could be realized if the government were to offer guarantees to prospective investors. Afzaal Kiani, a Pakistani-origin mayor of London’s Hounslow Borough Council, underscored the need for collective efforts to work towards the betterment of Pakistan. He expressed these words while talking to the media at Lahore Press Club on Sunday.
Kiani pointed out that the current circumstances have made overseas Pakistanis reluctant to invest in the country, particularly in the real estate sector, fearing potential property disputes. However, Kiani noted that with government assurances, overseas investments could be encouraged. Furthermore, when discussing the Gaza and Palestine issue, Kiani highlighted the lack of unity among the Muslim countries on the matter.
