LAHORE – In an exciting development the government of Punjab has decided to give salaries to public sector employees before Eid-ul-Adha 2024.

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed that government employees receive their salaries in advance before Eid ul Adha – one of two major Islamic events in which Muslims sacrifice animals.

The disbursement of advance salaries comes on directives of Punjab Chief Minister’s orders, as Finance Department started preparations to release salaries by June 13, 2024.

It has been learnt that process of salary payment to government staff will help people amid inflation. This decision aims to provide financial relief to employees for their Eid expenses.

During Eid ul-Adha, Muslims purchase animals for sacrifice to commemorate Hazrat Ibrahim’s sacrifice. Muslims used to buy goats, sheep, cows, and camels, chosen based on cultural and economic factors.

Special markets are also set up for sale of these animals, where buyers select healthy ones that meet religious criteria. The sacrificial meat is divided into three parts: one for the family, one for relatives and friends, and one for the less fortunate, emphasizing charity and community.
