ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly cold and dry weather for most parts of Pakistan including the twin cities during the next couple of days.
According to the synoptic situation, continental air is prevailing over most parts of Pakistan.
A shallow westerly wave is approaching upper parts of the country today.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night and the next two days.
Partly cloudy weather is likely in upper parts during the period.
Light rain/light snowfall over high mountain is likely in Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral and surrounding areas. Smog/fog is likely to persist in upper Sindh and plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during morning and night hours.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 04-06 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 04-06 C on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across Pakistan during the last 24 hours.
Leh remained the coldest place in Pakistan where mercury dropped 10 C below the freezing point.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 04 C.
Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 93 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 06 C.
Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 75 per cent.
