Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday declared that the past rulers set records of corruption and huge money was minted with connivance of mafias.
“Instead of changing the lives of the masses, the past rulers only patronized robbers, cartels and other organised mafias for their vested interest.”
Chief Minister Usman Buzdar asserted that the looters will have to be accountable for their misdeeds.
“Before levelling baseless allegations, the defeated elements should look into their own peep as their accusations are a bundle of lies,” he insisted and added that the country is moving in the right direction and the government is burning the midnight oil to solve the problems of the people. The CM said that resources are a trust of the people to be utilized for public welfare.
“Opponents of the development do not want the country to prosper,” he deplored and said the past rulers made corruption in the name of projects and people were deprived of their rights.
The chief minister said the PTI government has promoted the norms of transparent governance while eliminating corruption at every level.
“A handful of people are opposing public welfare but the PM Imran Khan-led government will set a new record of public service,” the CM pledged.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar claimed that the PTI government has earmarked around Rs28 billion for different development activities in the provincial metropolis including Shahkam Chowk Overhead Bridge, Ghulab Devi Hospital Underpass and Sheranwala Gate Overhead Bridge.
The chief minister said the development work will benefit citizens in their daily mobility. The projects have been designed according to the city needs and public priorities are given importance instead of personal projection, he added.
The CM affirmed that a 1000-bed hospital will be constructed and Rs1.5 billion is allocated for the installation of a surface water treatment plant to fulfil the water needs of the citizens.
The chief minister strongly condemned hooliganism and attack on women parliamentarians by the opposition members in the parliament.
The CM said the opposition has exhibited undemocratic, unethical and non-parliamentary behaviour adding that ensuring the prestige and honour of the parliament is a collective responsibility.
He regretted the opposition members blatantly violated all ethical norms by hurling abuses at women members and committed the worst offence by attacking them.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said the development roadmap will ensure genuine development as the annual development programme, valuing Rs560 billion, will develop every district.
CM Buzdar said parliamentarians have been consulted adding that a 66 per cent increase in the development programme in a year shows the strong development priorities of the government.
The difficult decisions, made for economic stabilization, have started yielding positive results and Punjab is moving forward rapidly, the CM maintained.
