76th annual anniversary of Neela-e-Butt observed

The 76th annual anniversary of Youm-e-Neela Butt, the practical initiation of Kashmir liberation move-ment point on August 23, 1947 by Sardar Mohammad Abdul Qayyum Khan at his age of 22 years, was marked by Kashmiris with renewed pledge not to rest till complete freedom of India-held Kashmir. Spirit of Neela Butt struggle rein-forces our resolve to continue our sacred freedom mission, speakers in a massive celebratory public meeting at the Neela Butt Heights on Wednesday declared. Thousands of attendees applauded this declaration with Pakistan/Kashmir Zindabad slo-gans.

Ex-Premier Muslim Conference chief Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said “we are fully conscious of our Kashmir liberation mission. History has bestowed this obligation on our collective shoulders, we owe a heavy debt to half a million Kashmiri martyrs who had sacrificed their lives in the way of Kashmir struggle and to their descendants across Jammu and Kashmir, he asserted. We draw deep inspiration from the living ideology that gave birth to Pakistan and injected Pakistanism in the veins of Kashmiris, he added.

A number of governmental and political leaders from all walks of Kashmiri life spoke on the occasion paying glowing tributes to the founder of practical phase of Kashmir liberation movement Sardar Mohammad Abdul Qayym and demanded establishment of strategic Kashmir studies university campus at Neela Butt.
