As many as 68 buffaloes were electrocuted when the live wires fell into a nullah in which they were taking a dip in Sabzazar area of the City on Friday.

Reportedly, a cattle handler on Friday drove his buffaloes and their claves into a nullah in the Sabzazar area.

As soon as the cattle herd entered the nullah, some live wires fell into the water, sending electric waves through the water and killing 46 buffaloes and 22 calves instantly.

The owner of the cattle herd, Malik Mushtaq, said that he was about to take his herd out of the nullah when the live wires fell into the water.

Mushtaq said that Lesco had already been informed about the rickety cables network but they did not pay heed.

The poor man appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to compensate him for his great loss and also demanded registration of a case against Lesco officials.
