Director General Population Welfare Department Saman Roy said on Sunday that 600 teachers and more than 10,000 students have been provided high-level training related to family planning and reproductive health in 30 educational institutions in Punjab province.
She said that the Punjab Population Innovation Fund (PPIF) in Punjab province is based on improving family planning resources and reducing population growth through its use.
She expressed these views while addressing a meeting held here in the committee room. In meeting, a target has been set to reach 55,000 youths and married couples in the three districts of Attock, Khushab, and Lodhran districts for providing family planning, gender equality information, and services.
Through this programme, providing free access to quality family planning services to the people of the province and institutionalising quality of care in family planning services.
The PPIF delivery system and awareness among the people and focusing on providing better health-related facilities. She said that in this connection, coordination of family planning service providers is also being improved through the World Bank programme. Roy said that the Department of Population Welfare Punjab is currently implementing several initiatives.
