Punjab Emergency Service Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has said that rescue service will mark 2020 as the ‘Year of Rescuers’ for rescue service.
He expressed these views while presiding over all district emergency officers (DEOs) conference held at Rescue Headquarters at Thokar Niaz Baig here on Saturday. He said during this year, service issues regarding regularization of all contractual employees, regular promotion of all rescuers and officers after approval of service structure, restoration of emergency incentive and allowance will be addressed on top priority.
He said that service will also mark years 2020 for Rescue Scouts Mobilization through digital database of all Community Emergencies Response Teams (CERTs) and rescue scouts conventions for pragmatic engagement of all community teams. He emphasized that all district emergency officers will continue to ensure the mission for development of safer communities.
While evaluating the performance of each district, the DG said that when the same resources have been provided in all districts of Punjab, then why there was a difference in the quality of services which were being provided by the district. He vowed that there was only difference of the manager at district, if some officers can ensure to conduct regular drills, timely repair, and maintenance of vehicles, efficient working of the control room then, why others cannot do that.
