ISLAMABAD – Zahir Jaffer, the prime suspect in the Noor Mukadam murder case, has denied the allegations levelled against him.
The latest development comes nearly four months after a sessions court in the federal capital indicted Zahir Jaffer and other suspects in the case.
The prime suspect in his latest statement said that Noor Mukadam had arranged a party at his home, adding that he was high on drug that night when the incident happened.
“Hours later when I returned to consciousness, I found myself tied up in the lounge,” he said. Zahir Jaffer revealed that he was rescued by police and people in civilian clothes.
“Later, I found that Noor Mukadam has been killed by someone in the party or else one,” the suspect claimed.
Zahir Jaffer said that he was being wrongly implicated in the case by Noor’s father, Shaukat Mukadam, a former ambassador of Pakistan.
After his statement, the court adjourned the hearing till February 14.
The murder case came into light when Zahir was arrested from his house in F-7/4 on July 20, 2021 where he beheaded Noor Mukadam, daughter of former Pakistani diplomat Shaukat Ali Mukadam, after he held her hostage over the breakup.
On July 24, Police arrested Zahir’s parents and their servants over allegations of hiding evidence and being complicit in the crime.
They were made part of the investigation in the murder case based on former ambassador’s statement.
