KARACHI – Former Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan on Thursday expressed support for the recent appointment former Captain Waqar Younis as advisor to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, saying that it is a positive development.
Younis Khan praised Waqar Younis, who had previously led the team under his captaincy. Khan expressed confidence that Waqar Younis now has the opportunity to address and resolve the current issues facing Pakistan cricket.
He was talking to the reporters during the Green Leary event in Karachi.
Younis Khan said that recent changes within the cricket board could bring about improvements. Reflecting on his career, he highlighted that he had seen seven to eight different PCB chairmen come and go. He humorously likened this to a rooster that, when it dances, forgets everything else.
Khan also emphasized the need for enhancing Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure and stressed the importance of appointing individuals within the PCB who are capable of delivering tangible results.
