The Young Doctors Association on Wednesday announced launching Punjab-wide protest against “what they called” widespread corruption and poor performance of the Primary and Secondary Health Department.
The YDA members staged a protest in front of Primary and Secondary Health Department where they addressed a press conference. Talking to the media, the YDA office-bearers alleged that the Primary and Secondary Department has become hub of corruption. They regretted that there is ban on transfer of doctors, but those having contacts in the corridors of power are getting transferred to places of their choice.
They claimed that 60 doctors have submitted their resignation in protest against the prevailing condition of the health dispensation. They said that the department is preparing for introducing a new policy merely to oblige the bureaucracy, warning that they will never allow anyone to ruin public sector hospitals.
