Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha made shocking revelations about election rigging during the recently held polls and it sparked new controversy, prompting response from ECP, political parties and Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.
The country’s top judge Qazi Faez Isa asked for evidence of Chatha’s involvement in election rigging after bombshell press conference as that further deteriorated the political crisis.
CJP said everybody has the freedom to make any accusations but the person needs proof to support them. He shared two cents on levelling baseless allegations, opining that there is no truth to it nor is evidence presented.
Shame on those who launched Commissioner Rawalpindi. Respect for Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa for standing TALL against planned propaganda. This is not the first time Qazi Faez Isa is facing such false accusations. pic.twitter.com/k21ocrW2ig

You can level allegations all you want, it is your right but present evidence to back it. Whether good or bad, it will be determined later,” the top judge said in reaction to today’s dramatic development.
Chief Justice said his role was only restricted to facilitation of the conduct of polls 2024.
