A tentative schedule for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India has been proposed with the tournament set to take place from October 5th to November 19th.

The final of the 10-team spectacle will be played in the largest cricketing stadium in the world in Ahmedabad. Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Mumbai are other cities which are likely to host the 48 matches across the 46-day period.

BCCI, the hosts for the event, is reportedly battling several concerns before finalising the schedule and venues which are usually announced a year in advance.

Chiefly among the problems is the monsoon season receding at different points in different parts of the country which needs to be taken into account when finalising the venues for an uninterrupted tournament.

The main issue BCCI is likely to encounter during the 2023 ODI World Cup is the question mark around the participation of Pakistan. The relations between the two neighbours have been frosty as of late and PCB may be reluctant to send the Green Shirts to India if Rohit Sharma’s men do not travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup.

There even exists a possibility that the Pakistani contingent may not get their Visas approved by the Indian government which BCCI has assured will not be a problem.

Pakistan has not played a game in India, except for ICC-sanctioned events, since 2013 and that trend looks to carry on this year as well.
