Mohammad Rizwan has penned a heartfelt message to the supporters of Multan Sultans after his side fell short of the target for a second successive year.

Taking to the social media app Twitter, the captain of Sultans wrote “A huge shout-out to the fans all across Pakistan for the endless support to Multan Sultans throughout the league. Wherever we played, you were our pillar of strength. Congratulations to Lahore Qalandars for being well-deserved champions.”

The Sultans lost a heartbreaker to Lahore Qalandars in the pinnacle game of the Pakistan Super League season 8 by just a single run in a repeat of the final from last year.

Rizwan was also praised last year for his positive attitude following the loss which earned him respect from all over the globe.

Despite Multan Sultans falling short of their goal, Mohammad Rizwan had another prolific season to continue his meteoric rise in cricket from an outcast to a regular international.

The opening batter won the “Hanif Muhammad” cap for being the tournaments highest run scorer, finishing the season with 550 runs in 12 innings.

The no2 ranked T20 batter in the world, was recently rested for Pakistan’s series in Afghanistan but is sure to be part of the squad for the upcoming 2023 Asia Cup and the ICC ODI World Cup.
