While Team India captain Virat Kohli is busy playing the Test match against Australia, another Kohli, who played with him in the Under-19 World Cup in 2008 was busy celebrating his 32nd birthday on Thursday.
“We have known each other since the last 12 years when we were playing together for North Zone. But everybody is running in his own race.
Virat ran faster than me”, Taruwar Kohli, the top order batsman, who now plays for Mizoram, said exclusively.
Recalling his earlier days, Taruwar Kohli says, “one incident I can’t forget is when he scored a hundred but his team lost the match because there was no other major contribution from other players and he cried at the end of the match. He could not digest the defeat and to-day also he is so passionate about the game”.
“He has become a legend now. Very fit player, always cautious about his fitness and diet. He has amazingly changed in the last few years”.
“When there is a Kohli in the name, it is difficult not to feel motivated by Virat. I am proud of him. Whole country is proud of the present India captain. His teammates are always learning a lot for him. He has become a more disciplined and humble man now”, added Taruwar.
At least in one aspect, Taruwar Kohli is ahead of Virat. Taruwar is a father of a baby girl whereas Virat will start enjoying fatherhood from next month.
“I celebrated my birthday with all family members at home”, he concluded.
