Adenoviruses are double-stranded DNA viruses that can infect both human beings and animals. These pathogens can cause a number of illnesses in humans, from mild respiratory infections to severe complications.
People affected by this virus can witness respiratory symptoms including cough, sore throat, and fever, but they can also cause other symptoms, including diarrhea, pink eye, and even bladder infections.
The virus has been found in parts of the world and it landed in Pakistan’s largest city Karachi. The city of over 17 million is grappled outbreak of Adenovirus as experts identified symptoms associated with the virus.
Adenovirus mainly targets lungs, eyes, intestines, urinary tract, and nervous system.

How Adenoviruses Spread?
Adenovirus, the member of the family Adenoviridae, can spread fast, especially during the incubation period. The infectious disease can still spread the virus for days or even weeks after you start feeling better.
These viruses can stay alive on surfaces for weeks even up to a month.
To prevent adenovirus infections, it is advised to practice good hygiene, such as washing hands frequently, avoiding close contact with sick individuals, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces.
