Webinar on ‘Zinc Bio Fortified Wheat’ held

A webinar on “Zinc Bio Fortified Wheat” was organised by the Department of Food Sciences and Technology in collaboration with Gain Pakistan and Harvest Pakistan at MNS University of Agriculture Multan.

The objective of the seminar was to develop awareness regarding nutritional deficiency among the Pakistani population.

The webinar was presided over by MNS Agri University VC Prof Dr Asif Ali. He said that bio fertilizers can be very effective to overcome the nutritional deficiency in daily food. This type of innovation is the need of the hour and also the future of Pakistan.

“Harvest Plus is introducing zic fortified wheat among farmers and collaboration with Harvest Plus will continue our efforts in research and development of bio fertilized crops,” he stressed.

During the webinars recommendations were proposed for the development of bio fertilisers in Pakistan. Prof Dr Irfan Baig, Shezad Raza Sabir, Dr Zulifqar Ali, Dr Hamad Nadeem, Dr M Imtiaz, Dr Javed Ahmad and M Yaqoob Mujahid participated in the webinars.
