Weather update for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pakistan; scattered rains predicted

ISLAMABAD – Scattered rains are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night and Wednesday with occasional gaps.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the western and upper parts of Pakistan.
Under these weather conditions, rains are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, upper Punjab and Gilgit Baltistan on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, mainly dry and hot weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rains may occur in the twin cities, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 28-30°C on Wednesday and 29-31°C on Thursday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 28-30°C on Wednesday and 29-31°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, rains occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir during the last 24 hours.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kalam 31, Dir (Upper 29, Lower 15), Chitral 20, Drosh 19, Peshawar (Airport 15, City 12), Bannu 15, Malam Jabba 14, Mir Khani 11, Parachinar 05, Mardan 04, Cherat 03, Saidu Sharif 01

Punjab: Kot Addu 05, Layyah 03, Dera Ghazi Khan 02, Bhakkar 01

Gilgit-Baltistan: Gilgit, Gupis, Bagrote, Hunza 04, Astore 02, Bunji 01

Kashmir: Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot 04

Nawabshah and Chhor remained the hottest places in Pakistan where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Maximum temperature in Mithi was recorded at 40°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 29°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 71 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 29°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 48 per cent.
