PESHAWAR – Rains with isolated heavy falls and gusty winds are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday night and the next two days with occasional gaps.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen on Monday evening/night. A shallow westerly wave prevails over extreme northern parts of the country. A fresh westerly wave will likely approach the upper parts on Monday evening/night.
Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, Buner, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Waziristan, Orakzai and Kurram on Sunday night.
On Monday and Tuesday, more intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Buner, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, Peshawar, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kohat, Kurram, Hangu, Kark, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan. Heavy falls are likely at isolated places in upper districts during the period.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37-39°C on Monday and 36-38°C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However, isolated rains occurred in upper districts.
