Weather outlook of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; fog continues to prevail

PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and dry weather for Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next two days.

As per the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave prevails over Balochistan which is likely to approach western parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday evening/night, Saturday and Sunday.
Partly cloudy and freezing weather is likely in upper districts.
Light rain/drizzle is likely in Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan and surroundings on Friday evening/night.

Fog update for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Dense fog is likely to persist in Charsadda, Rashakai, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Laki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and surroundings during morning and night hours.

Less visibility will affect normal vehicular flow on inter and intra-city roads.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.
Dense fog continued to disturb normal vehicular movement in the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from night to till early morning.
Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 05 C below freezing.
In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 04 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.
