Weather outlook of Lahore, Punjab; scattered rains predicted

LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall of varying intensities for Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday evening/night and Friday.

As per the synoptic situation, a weak westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist till Friday morning.

Under these conditions, partly cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province on Thursday evening/night and Friday.

On Thursday evening/night, light to moderate rain with wind/thunderstorms are expected in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sialkot, Bhakkar, Layyah and Noorpurthal.

On Friday, light rain with wind/thunderstorms are expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Bhakkar, Layyah and Noorpurthal. Cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely in Murree, Galyat and surroundings.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 32-34 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most parts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the country where temperature reached 35 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 63 per cent.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 33 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 69 per cent.
