ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold and dry weather for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan during the weekend.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is expected in the twin cities and parts of the country on Friday evening/night, Saturday and Sunday. Freezing weather is expected in the upper parts of the country. Shallow fog will likely prevail at isolated places in northeast Punjab during morning, and night hours.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 00-02 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 01-03 C on Sunday.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 02-04 C on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the upper parts. Shallow fog prevailed at isolated places in northeast Punjab.
Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 15 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 01 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 76 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 04 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 67 per cent.
