As many as 2,774 people were vaccinated against Corona at Vaccination Centres across the district on Saturday, taking the total number of people vaccinated so far 81,505 in the district, of which 65,090 have been given first dose and 16,415 have given second dose.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali while briefing Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, said that there are 17 vaccination centres functional in the district where general public and health workers are being vaccinated.
He said that due to high pressure at Sports Complex Samanabad Centre in the City area, more centres have been planned to be set up soon for which request has been sent to the health ministry.
SSP Operations Muhammad Afzal, Additional Deputy Commissioners – Fazal Rabi Cheema and Khurram Pervez, DO Health Dr Bilal Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Saddr Umar Maqbool and other officers were also present on the occasion.
The DC apprised of the severity of the third wave of corona epidemic and said that the district administration, Pakistan Army, Rangers and District Police are working hard to implement Corona SOPs.
Actions against people without face masks in public places are being taken and they are being realized also.
The provincial minister appreciated the continuous countermeasures of the district administration to save the citizens from the dangers of the current third wave in Corona and said that joint efforts would be made to defeat the virus by combating this wave as well.
He said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, he was inspecting the situation of Corona epidemic in Faisalabad district, including inspections of Ramadan bazaars, hospitals and police stations and checking sanitation, supply and drainage issues and no effort will be spared for relief to the public.
