LAHORE – As the country heads to its upcoming elections, the former ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lamented lingering atmosphere of despondency, accusing manifestations of heavy-handedness by state machinery and now Umar Dar has gone missing from Lahore.
Embattled PTI claimed that Umar Dar, the brother of Usman Dar, was allegedly abducted from the provincial capital, and blamed Khawaja Asif for manipulating the upcoming elections.
As Umar’s whereabouts remained unknown, his mother Rehana Dar said his son had been abducted from Lahore, and requested the Chief Justice to intervene and take notice of the situation.
Sharing her ordeal, Mrs Dar said Umar’s disappearance added to her existing woes. She mentioned facing all those challenges from participating in elections. Lamenting the opportunity to submit nomination papers, she said cops are stationed outside her house.
Other PTI leaders including Omar Ayub Khan also joined Usman Dar’s mother and condemned the abduction.
Amid the hasting developments ahead of polls, a petition has been filed in LHC for recovery of Umar Dar, and Punjab IGP and Lahore CCPO have been named as respondents.
Meanwhile, Lahore police turned down reports about Umar’s abduction.
Let it be known that Usman Dar appeared in TV show in which he condemned May 9 riots and distance himself from Imran Khan.
