UoE holds graduation ceremony of NFTP

The graduation ceremony of the 6,7,8th batch of the stu-dents of National Freelance Training Program (NFTP) was held at Main Campus, Township of University of Education, Lahore here on Tuesday.

The ceremony was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Uni-versity of Education, Lahore Prof. Dr. Muhammad Alam Saeed while the chief guest was Director General E-Governance Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Sajid Latif along with Joint Director PITB Ahmed Islam. On this occasion, certificates were distributed among 300 students who completed their training. The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommuni-cation (MoITT) launched this program to empower the aspiring youth of the nation. Under this program training is being imparted in three different fields, including tech-nology, marketing and modern design courses. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Alam Saeed said that modern technology has undoubtedly created conveniences for human beings in every field. Today, those countries that have made their citizens aware of the latest technology have a unique position in the world. He said that majority of the population of the our country Pakistan consists of youth and it is very important to introduce them modern tech-nology so that they can not only make their life comfort-able but also play their active role in the development of the country. And with that in mind, the government has launched projects such as the National Freelance Training Program, where young people are being taught technical skills and provided with online employment opportunities. Congratulating the graduating students, the Vice Chancellor said that the National Freelance Training Program is a successful project which should benefit as many young people as possible.
