A seminar was organized at the University of Okara (UO) in connection with International Women Day 2024. With the theme “Inspire Inclusion”, the seminar was attended by a large number of female teachers and students.
The guest speakers of the event included Ms Sajida from Global Group of Education and Ms Rukhsana from Cadet College Okara. The Chief Organizer of the seminar was Dr Nasrin Akhtar, Director Career Counselling at the UO.
Addressing to the participants, Dr Nasrin argued that women had pivotal role to play in every walk of life and without their inclusion in the social mainstream, there can be no development and prosperity.
Sajida highlighted the importance of higher education for women by saying, “In today’s globalized world, women must pursue higher education in science and technology. Many foreign universities are offering scholarships in post-graduate and doctorate programs. Pakistani women should avail these opportunities well.”
Rukhsana talked about inclusion of women in the social mainstream and the reduction of gender discrimination.
At the end of the seminar, shields were distributed among the guest speakers and the organizing team. An International Education Expo was also organized at the sidelines of the seminar.
