A group of 20 senior civil Judges visited the Department of Forensic Medicine, and Patiala Block KEMU, as part of their training being held under the collaboration between the Punjab Judicial Academy and KEMU.
The delegation was led by Punjab Judicial Academy Director Academics Ch Muhammad Siddique.
Prof Dr Arif Rasheed Malik former chairman, Department of Forensic Medicine KEMU/ Surgeon Medicolegal Punjab, acted as resource person on the occasion.
The delegation members were received by Prof Dr Arif Rasheed Malik and Dr Fariha Tariq, Head of Department of Forensic Medicine.
After a brief introduction, delegation was shown the receiving, registering of dead bodies, their preservation in cold storage, transfer to autopsy room with receiving of police papers, postmortem examinations along with visit of various laboratories, museum and lecture theater of Forensic Medicine Department of KEMU. A comprehensive answer question session was held.
KEMU Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal briefed the delegation about the academic history, research and infrastructural development of KEMU.
He also informed the delegation about the facilities and quality service delivery provided by the Faculty of KEMU and its attached hospital for prevention, control and treatment of Patients during COVID-19 Pandemic, with virtual visit to Telemedicine Department.
The Registrar Dr. Riasat Ali, Prof. Balquis Shabbir and Prof. Saira Afzal were also present in the briefing.
