India thrash Pakistan in final group match of Asian Hockey Champions Trophy

BEIJING – India beat Pakistan 2-1 in their last round-robin match of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy at Moqi, China, on Saturday.

In the high-voltage clash, Pakistan secured the lead by post first goal in the 8th minute. However, India managed to post two penalty goals, taking command in the match.

The Indian side managed to maintain the lead till final quarter of the match. The Team Blue now entered the semis unbeaten.

Earlier, Pakistan drew 2-2 against Malaysia and Korea, before thrashing Japan and China 2-1 and 5-1 respectively to jump to second spot on points table.

With four wins in the games, India are table topper as they defeated China 3-0, Japan 5-1, beating Malaysia 8-1 before securing a convincing a 3-1 victory against Korea.
